Seed Grants

Seed grants are a funding mechanism to allow investigation of an idea. Seed grants may be internal or external and do not have a set limit in terms of their definition, but tend to be between $25,000 and $60,000 per grant over the course of one to two years. Read more
 

Quick Wins

Quick Wins is an applied research funding mechanism put in place to provide rapid solutions to unmet clinical and business needs. This mechanism is unique in that it is designed to allow a focused, rapid development of technologies to be used by clinicians and administrators or to provide answers to operational questions through analytics on a variety of data sets. Read more
 

Individual Projects

One of the ways to engage the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Technology Center is through supporting individual research projects where you propose the problem or have a need for prototype development. We collaborate with our sponsors, colleagues, and peers. Being part of a non-profit research institute, we are an objective partner who delivers workable solutions and manufacturable products. We engage with both government and industry to develop highly effective, practical solutions that we put into action.

Product Testing

As an independent third party, Georgia Tech has the ability to test a variety of consumer products, from use in the home to testing commercial medical products against electromagnetic radiation. Read more about the product testing capabilities at Georgia Tech and how they can be made to meet your needs.

GCMI

The Global Center for Medical Innovation (GCMI) is the Southeast’s first and only comprehensive medical device innovation center, dedicated to accelerating development, building businesses, and improving health. While co-located with Georgia Tech, GCMI is a resource for all. GCMI is also a small-batch manufacturer for those pediatric devices that will never have the numbers of units to entice a large-scale manufacturer. Read more
 

Petit Scholars

The Petit Undergraduate Research Scholars program is a competitive scholarship program that serves to develop the next generation of researchers. Historically, the program has focused on bioengineering and bioscience; however, the Pediatric Petit Undergraduate Research Scholars can be in any field on campus. The program provides a comprehensive research experience for a full calendar year. Open to all Atlanta area university students, the program allows undergraduates to conduct independent research in the state-of-the-art laboratories at Georgia Tech. Read more
